Walking Is As Easy As Breathing is a simple loose script which gives you a "Groove Control" key, similar in spirit to Bethesda roleplaying games: simply press the key and your character will continue moving forward until you override the movement with key input of your own. Intended for keyboard users.
The script will add a negligible frame impact to your game. It drops to a processing frequency of 6 Hz until you press the key, where it moves up to per-frame processing (necessary to provide control input overrides), and then drops back to its original frequency when you turn it off or take over your movement control.
Default setup is for the C key. Key assignments can be easily modified by hacking the script yourself -- it's a plain text .cs file.
Installation:
1) Install ScriptHook V.
2) Install ScriptHookVDotNet. (mirror)
3) Place WalkingIsAsEasyAsBreathing.cs in your /Grand Theft Auto V/Scripts folder.

Public domain. Feel free to use/abuse/claim as your own.

I don't understand this mod
@ShakeZone I *could* make a video to demonstrate how it works, but the last time I had to make a video for anything (an Aim mod for Fallout: New Vegas) it took me the better part of an afternoon to download codecs and software and what-have-yous. I actually wanted to find some funk music and play it whenever my character started moving, stopping abruptly whenever I cancelled the movement, but people might mistakenly presume that the mod itself included that. ;-)

@thattallboy It's "cruise control" for walking: "groove control". Saves your left middle finger for more important uses. ;-)
Base game: Hold W to walk forward. Complain of arthritis.
Mod: Press C once. Walk forward automatically. Groove out. (You can still hold W to walk forward manually if you want to, of course, if you're totally hardcore.)
You can also still use A and D to move left or right slightly, and can take control back at any time by trying to "fight" it by tapping the S key to move back, or by tapping the C key again.

@IRaphael: Untested! I did make sure to base the "move backward without moving left/right" on floating point logic so that you could move the stick back on a gamepad and not have to achieve a perfect zero on the alignment, but there's nothing in the code that explicitly supports assigning a gamepad button to the Groove Control key.
Internal gamepad support usually requires compiled .dlls with references to a third-party gamepad support library (such as XInputDotNetPure or similar), since the raw Rockstar script support for gamepads is fairly craptacular.
It *might* be possible to use XPadder to map a gamepad button combination to that key.

@Tonyism Yes! I keep thinking of going back now and again, but real life took over, and now I'm a po' boy who's struggling to work half the time and finish off a post-secondary education the other half of the time.
