I would have either covered the slide or the grip and left the other untouched.

not bad for a first mod, I won't be using it, but at least you textured both the Hi res and low res variants.

I agree with everyone above, you can't just paste a texture over a gun. It looks terrible and unrealistic.

In real life or Games alike, weapon skins leave specific details of the weapon in their original colors - Like the pistol grip, where the casings eject, sights, the clip slot, etc...

I suggest you layer this new texture over the old one in Photoshop or something like that, at 50% opacity, and cut off parts of the skin texture so the bottom original weapon texture can show through - Same components I detailed above - Merge the layers, and there you go. Most of the work is done for you.

And as for @lionpion1 - It isn't mean to tell someone what they made is bad if it is bad. Negative criticism when you do something wrong is how people grow and develop. While I don't agree with how some people worded it, I think they're doing the right thing by down-voting it and leaving comments.
