Check this video for a preview of V2.
Check github to get the sourcecode.
V2 Changelog
- Less wobbly movement, removed the side-slide thing in favor of a more standard orbital approach.
- Standarized everything with only two modes, camera far, camera near.
- Better camera feedback based on G-Forces.
--------------------------------
Proof of concept for Model and G-Forces based camerawork for a more NFS like experience. Or any modern racing game, for that matter.
Does not allow drive-bys. Does not have a LookBack.
The chasecam has a few experimental modes that cycle through emphasis on the vehicle's direction or where it aims, which G-Forces are applied, if any at all. They're named so you know what its doing. Will be made a menu in the future!
As life allows me I will try to improve upon this concept and make it a full fleshed out chase cam! I'll share the source soon, when I clean the concept's code so its easy to port to FiveM.
INSTALLATION
ChaseCam.dll goes onto 'GTAV Root/Scripts/'.
USAGE
While in a car, hold the NextCamera key a sec or two to toggle it. Tap it to switch between modes.
REQUIREMENTS
.NET Framework 4.5.2
Visual C++ 2015
ScriptHookV Latest
ScriptHookVDotNet Latest

That's a quick release! Going to yoink the g-force-affects-tilt for my script.
Crazy good concept. Really feels like a completely different and more action-packed game. I hope you'll be able to get drive-bys and look-back/mouselook working in the future. I know there is some weird math involved in doing so that I don't even come close to comprehending quite yet.
great mod I hope in the future you can do inverted look and the drive by cam but i feel the cam is a little janky when driving tho
Can i use this on fivem?
This is an amazing proof of concept so far! Can't wait to see where this goes!
i knew it .Thanks man.youre amazing
@Eddlm Having tried it myself, it's quite fun. As I've stated before, I'd love to see some configurations regarding g-force and stuff.
But also, I hope to see some per-vehicle customization. With some of my cars, the camera is like super far back and super high up, and it's also pointing downwards at a steep angle. It doesn't look right.
epic
doesnt work for me
which i have to press???
So what key is NextCamera key on my keyboard?
thanks for the update!
This is cool but still needs customizability, such as global options and per-vehicle options.
Not a fan of V2, V1 really gave that feeling of a race game camera, V2, doesn't move to the sides at all, and feels like the camera is bouncing up and down, I find that it feels uneasy to see the camera bounce but not move to the sides, like it's not natural.
I didn't know I needed this so much.
@mrwallace888 Yeah I am aware. Sadly I am not that active anymore and so, those improvements will not come. I've shared the source in case anyone wants to pick it up, like it happened with Better Chases.
@thalilmythos I've left the V1 still available for that reason. I'd have loved to keep both systems and make it configurable, but no time.
@Eddlm Sad to hear, have enjoyed all of your work so far. Good luck to your endeavors elsewhere, and nice work on this.
Every time I press V to remove the chase cam in v1 it also goes to a different mode and it's a bit frustrating, can that be fixed? Maybe a lock or just a different key so it stays the same. Thanks
Great mod.Thank you.
Will this work in Fivem now!?
